Japanese Bishops Meet In Conference In April 2019, the Conference of Japanese Bishops released their long awaited statement as to how accusations against priests would be handled. In shocking anger it failed to assure faithful that the accused would face not only church punishments but in the spirit of justice being handed to secular police and thus justice system. Fairly so as abusing children, sexually harassing adults, and rape are illegal, not just as the bishops term, "moral failings".
